The Swedenborg Project Privacy Policy


The Swedenborg Project ("TSP," "we" or "us") provides content and services on the websites currently located at  www.swedenborgproject.org  and www.swedenborgdigitallibrary.org (collectively, the "Sites")  The purpose of this TSP privacy policy (the "Policy") is to help you understand what kinds of information we may gather about you when you visit the Sites, how we may use that information, whether we will disclose it, and how you can correct the information.

Acknowledgement and Agreement
Please note that by using the Sites, you signify your acceptance of this Policy. If you do not agree to the terms of this Policy, please exit and do not use the Sites. Your continued use of the Sites after any changes to the Policy shall be deemed to be acceptance of the revised Policy. Please check back here frequently at http://www.swedenborgdigitallibary.org.org/privacy to ensure your continued familiarity with the Policy.

Children's Information
These Sites are not directed toward children under thirteen years of age. TSP does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under thirteen years of age. If you are not 13 years old, please exit and do not use the Sites. If you are not 13 years old, you should not register to become a Member or provide any personally identifiable information through the Sites.

The Information We Gather
TSP collects information from you (“Your Information”) at several different points on the Sites in your registration and use of the services and content of the Sites. In order to access portions of the Sites, you may be required to register and provide information such as your name, e-mail address, and demographic information such as your age, gender, occupation and zip code. Some of your information may be incorporated into a user profile that may be available to users of the Sites to view whenever you post a message on the TSP Blog. Please note that information you post to the TSP Blog including your user profile, will be available for any visitor to the Sites, and is therefore no longer private. TSP reserves the right to publish posts to the TSP Blog in other formats. You will also be asked to provide information in connection with your purchase of products that may be available for sale on the Sites. You may be asked by TSP or the applicable third party to supply certain information, including, but not limited to, credit card or other payment information.

Cookies
We may from time to time employ small computer files, commonly known as “cookies,” to assist in the collection of Your Information. Cookies enable the Sites to recognize you upon your return to the Sites, access Your Information stored on our computers, customize our services and content to your interests and increase you convenience in visiting the Sites. We may also collect IP addresses (the location of your computer on the Internet) to analyze trends, administer the Sites, track a user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.

How We Use The Information That We Gather
TSP uses Your Information as stated in this Policy. Your Information is used only by TSP, its successors or assigns, and certain TSP partners to operate their respective websites, provide TSP Sites services and inform you of new features, services, and products from TSP and TSP partners. TSP does not rent, sell, or share Your Information with third parties except to provide products or services you have requested, when we have your permission. TSP will also disclose Your Information, if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with the edicts of the law or legal processes served on TSP or to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of TSP’s terms of use, or as otherwise required by law, without notice to you. Information provided in connection with the purchase of products is used only for that transaction and is not retained by TSP.

Third Party Content and Services
Throughout the Sites there may be links to third party websites or services provided by third parties. You acknowledge and agree that if you provide information to such third parties the privacy policy of such third party governs. TSP does not monitor, control or endorse the information collection or privacy practices of any third parties, credit card order processors, product shippers or other third parties who provide services throughout the Sites. Accordingly, TSP assumes no liability or responsibility for the information collection and privacy practices of any third party. In addition, TSP is not responsible for the content of any third party websites, including a third party's use of any cookies or any other information collected when you "click-through" links to third party sites or view advertisements served by them. Even though certain information collected by such third parties might not identify you personally, we strongly encourage you to become familiar with their privacy practices, and to contact such third parties if you have any questions about their respective privacy policies.

Security
TSP uses reasonable security methods to protect the data that resides on our servers. However, no security system is impenetrable. TSP cannot warrant or guarantee the security of its servers, nor can it guarantee that information that Members supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted to TSP over the Internet. When our registration/order form asks users to enter credit card numbers, that information is encrypted. Also, keep in mind that whenever you participate in a publicly available online blog you provide information that can be collected and used by others that you do not know for the purpose of distributing unsolicited communications. TSP cannot guarantee the security of such information that you disclose in the TSP Blog and you do so at your own risk.

Correction/Updating Personal Information
If you wish to change your registration information or no longer desire to use our Sites, we allow you to correct, update or remove the personal data that you provided, by emailing us at info@swedenborgproject.org with a request to change your registration information. Keep in mind, however, that there will be residual information that will remain within TSP's databases, access logs, and other records, which may or may not contain such personally identifiable information.
