The Swedenborg Project Rules Of Conduct Agreement

PLEASE READ THIS AGREEMENT CAREFULLY
BEFORE POSTING ON THE TSP DISCUSSION BOARD

This TSP Rules of Conduct Agreement governs your participation in the TSP Blog on the website, www.swedenborgproject.org (collectively, the "Site") provided by The Swedenborg Project (hereinafter referred to as "TSP" or "us" or "we"). TSP agrees to provide you with access to the TSP Blog subject to your compliance with the terms and conditions set forth in these Rules of Conduct.

1. Acknowledgement and Agreement
Please read the following Rules of Conduct carefully. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT BY USING AND/OR REGISTERING TO USE THE SITE YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE RULES OF CONDUCT. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THE RULES OF CONDUCT, PLEASE EXIT AND DO NOT USE THE SITE. BY USING THE SITE, YOU ARE INDICATING THAT YOU ARE AT LEAST 13 YEARS OLD. IF YOU ARE NOT 13 YEARS OLD, PLEASE EXIT AND DO NOT USE THE SITE.

2. TSP Oversight of the TSP Blog
The TSP Blog is monitored by one or more moderators who may, in their sole discretion, delete, modify or ban postings to the TSP Blog for a violation of the Rules of Conduct or any other reason. The Rules of Conduct apply to anything you post, transmit, upload to or create on TSP, including postings, messages, screen names, member profiles, discussion titles, URLs, or any other text or images. TSP has the right to suspend or terminate your access to the TSP Blog or the Site for a violation of these Rules of Conduct. TSP may modify or change the Rules of Conduct at any time without notice. Continued use of the Site shall be deemed to be acceptance of the modification, deletion or amendment of the Rules of Conduct. Please check back here at http://www.swedenborgdigitallibrary.org/rules.html frequently to ensure your continued compliance with the Rules of Conduct.

3. Courtesy and Respect
In participating in the TSP Blog, you agree to treat others as you would like to be treated by criticizing ideas, not the people expressing them. You further agree that you will be courteous and respectful of every member, even those whose beliefs you think are false. When posting on the TSP Blog, you agree to refrain from disrespectful conduct including but not limited to: posting messages containing profanity; making personal attacks against other participants; engaging in derogatory name-calling; creating posts that insult, ridicule, defame, abuse, threaten, or harass others; making slurs relating to a person's age, disability, gender, ethnicity, race, nationality, religion, or sexual orientation; or to advocate violence against or harassment of groups or individuals on the basis of age, disability, gender, ethnicity, race, nationality, religion, or sexual orientation, even if religiously motivated.

4. No Disruptive Behavior
You agree not to disrupt or interfere with discussions with disruptive behavior, including the following: flooding the discussion with a disproportionate number of posts on the same topic; creating off-topic posts; spamming the discussion boards with multiple posts containing substantially the same text; making statements that are deliberately inflammatory; manipulating topic lists to disrupt conversation; making aggressive, repeated, or unwanted attempts to convert another participant's religious beliefs; posting in a language other than English without providing an accurate English translation; or any behavior that interferes with conversations or inhibits the ability of others to use and enjoy the Site for its intended purposes.

5. No Solicitation
You agree not to use this website or any of our community functions to advertise or solicit on behalf of commercial, religious, charitable or other organizations or causes. You agree not to post URLs repeatedly or for the purpose of promoting a website or service. You agree not to post a hyperlink to or URL of a site that violates these Rules of Conduct. You will not reproduce chain letters, pyramid schemes, mail fraud schemes, or any other unauthorized advertising.

6. Privacy
You will not collect or use information about participants in the TSP Blog without their prior written permission. You agree not to reveal personal information about someone else on the TSP Blog. TSP will remove any post containing a personal telephone number, address, or any information that would allow someone to locate a person without their permission. You agree that you are responsible for using good judgment about what information you reveal about yourself in a posting. Because the TSP Blog is publicly available, we strongly advise you against revealing any personal information. If you choose to display your e-mail address on the TSP Blog, please be aware that TSP has no control over who uses your e-mail address or for what purpose.

7. Content of Postings, No Illegality, No Obscenity
TSP discussions are primarily intended for interactive conversation. You agree to refrain from using visually disruptive or excessively large font sizes and/or images. You will not upload, post, link to, e-mail or otherwise transmit any harmful component to TSP or other participants, or deface any portion of the site. You agree not to create posts that consist substantially of material copied from another source. You agree to respect intellectual property rights when posting on TSP. You agree not to post copyrighted or trademarked images on TSP. You agree not to post transcripts of e-mail or other personal communication without the author's express permission. You agree not to post articles or other text from another publication (copyright or not) except as follows: you may quote a small sample of it, credit the source, post a hyperlink to the author's original, and include your own comments in your own words. You agree not to display words, images, or information that is vulgar, obscene, graphically violent, graphically sexual, harms minors in any way, exploits images of children, or is otherwise objectionable. You agree not to post URLs of sites where such words, images or information is displayed. You will not solicit or promote the use of an illegal substance, promote illegal activity, or discuss illegal activities with the intent to commit them.

8. Minors
Adult participants shall not to invite a minor on TSP to contact them for any reason.

9. Impersonation

You agree not to create more than one TSP username with the intent to disrupt TSP discussions or deceive TSP participants. You agree not to use the name of a revered religious figure or well-known public figure as your TSP username. You agree not to express or imply that any content or materials you make, submit or post are endorsed by TSP or falsely state or otherwise misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity.

10. Contact information
You agree to provide a valid e-mail address in your TSP registration. TSP staff must be able to contact you by e-mail if necessary. If the e-mail address in your registration information is not valid, your posting privileges may be suspended; should this happen to you, please contact us at info@swedenborgproject.org.

13. Reporting Problems
You agree not to post problem reports and complaints publicly on the TSP Blog. To report a violation of these Rules of Conduct, or to complain about another participant or the action of a moderator, e-mail us at info@swedenborgproject.org.
